Subject: Access Points and Active Directory

Hello,
An AAA server (=radius) is mandatory for 802.1X (with Cisco fat-AP)

AAA products have been listed over there :
- Microsoft IAS (free with Wserver 2003, max 50 AP for windows server
and no AP limit for Windows server Enterprise)
- Cisco ACS (can be used also for other cisco features like tacacs+
authentication on cisco devices, Cisco NAC feature, ...)
- FreeRadius (free-opensource)
All these three can communicate with AD

GB

Thanks Raul.

What are the authorization rights relevant to wireless network and
can all this be provided by MS-IAS?

I am trying to understand the clear benefits of introducing IAS in between.
