is linux more picky than windows over connecting to APs?: msg#00035security.wireless
Hi I've had a couple of instances where running in linux I have been able to see an AP exists through iwlist and kismet but not been able to connect. When I've rebooted into windows I've connected ok. When this has happened it has always been on APs with low signal strength. As far as I know the APs are standard setups, one was a completely default linksys so there is no special IPS doing anything fancy. I thought that maybe it was just me but I've read a few posts on forums of other people seeing this so maybe it isn't. Has anyone else experienced this and if so is there an explanation? Robin |
