For Madwifi-ng drivers, you have two devices, the wifi0 for the actual
interface and ath0 (usually) for station mode.

So to macchange you have to destroy the "ath" device, bring wifi0 down
and change mac address and then re-create the "ath" device.

1. wlanconfig ath0 destroy
2. ifconfig wifi0 down
3. macchanger --mac=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx wifi0
4. wlanconfig ath create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode station
5. ifconfig ath0 up

That usually works for me :-P

Seems like a resounding vote for macchanger. I think I did try it in
the past for wired stuff but then left it as I could do the same thing
with ifconfig.

I'll give it a try with madwifi-ng
