Due to lack of randomness in the names given to temporary files used by the Popper application local attackers can gain privileges of other users. DETAILS Vulnerable Systems: * Popper version 1.0 and prior The vulnerability is caused due to temporary file being created insecurely. This can be exploited via symbolic-link attacks and in turn to create and/or overwrite arbitrary files with the privileges of the user running the affected script.
