RE: NMAP Feature Request: msg#00086security.nmap.devel

This feels close to what I was talking about earlier in these posts: http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/2006/q4/0110.html http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/2006/q4/0115.html http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/2006/q4/0120.html On Mon, 18 Dec 2006 15:53:21 -0500, "Sina Bahram" <sbahram@xxxxxxxxx> said: > If your definition of something being up is a port being open, then > that's > one thing, but otherwise a ping scan "-sP" will do what you want > > Take care, > Sina > -----Original Message----- > From: nmap-dev-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:nmap-dev-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] > On Behalf Of Mark Maxey > Sent: Monday, December 18, 2006 2:09 PM > To: nmap-dev@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: NMAP Feature Request > > Perhaps this is already in nmap and I haven't figured out how to do it > yet. > > Could someone add an option to perform do the following. > > Ping a host, if the host is down move forward with a port scan.
