Portscan AI preprocessor release: msg#00005security.ids.snort.devel
Hi snorters, This is the first (and may be the unique) release of the product made as a result of the project ?Intrusion Detection System using Artificial Intelligence?. The product is a preprocessor called PortscanAI. PortscanAI detects, in real time, portscans using an Artificial Neural Network (MLP and Elman). The tests have thrown good results even with complex decoy portscans. The files can be downloaded from: http://afrodita.unicauca.edu.co/~aarboleda/snort_ai.htm This is just a first step in the integration of adaptive artificial intelligence technologies to Snort, for improving the detection techniques against variations of already known attacks. We hope the Snort community receive this project and keep it alive through the open source spirit. Any comments and suggestions are welcome. Best regards.
