I started by adding the -lresolv flag to the Makefile in output-plugins to no avail. Then I added it to the input-plugins Makefile. Finally I added it to the main director Makefile. Made certain to NOT reconfigure at each step (for others in the list this would wipe out the changes), but I DID make sure to do a "make clean" at each point. Still no joy. It should be picking these symbols up from libnsl, but that appears to be failing. The alternate location is libresolv, IIRC. Try adding a -lresolv to the libraries line.
