That's because the port maintainer screwed up.  :-)

I'm going to have to submit a correct to the port, but please do this for 
me to verify that this works:

In the Makefile for the port (/usr/ports/security/barnyard/Makefile)
edit the following line:
49 CONFIGURE_ARGS+=        --enable-postgresql
so that it looks like this:
CONFIGURE_ARGS+=        --enable-postgres

Or just apply the patch I've attached to this email like this:
1) copy the patchfile to /usr/ports/security/barnyard
2) cd /usr/ports/security/barnyard
3) patch Makefile patch-Makefile

Let me know if that fixes the problem, and I'll submit the patch to ports.
