Thread at a glance:
Previous Message by Date:Hacking the vote (literally)from: http://www.hackinthebox.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=21625 FBI investigates attack on Bouchard Web site Source: Detnews.com http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061107/UPDATE/611070420 The FBI is investigating an apparent attack by hackers that today shut down the Internet Web site of U.S. Senate candidate Mike Bouchard. Anyone trying to log on to MikeforMichigan.com gets a message saying the site was shut down as a result of an attack by hackers. David All, a spokesman for Bouchard's Republican campaign, said attackers created a program that resulted in the site being bombarded with massive requests for information that shut the site down. Workers were trying to get the site back up but it was unlikely to happen before the polls closed, All said. ----------------------------------- Weird, it doesn't seem like much could be accomplished by taking down a politicians site the day of the elections. Makes me think this was either done by a moron, or someone who was just sending a message.. -JP _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
