Need Transparent Bridge Programming Setup: msg#00339security.firewalls.m0n0wall
I have a network that I want to extend to a remote building... The network is numbered ... 192.168.25.0/24 and is currenty a hardwired network. I want to add a point to point link to a remote building. They should be able to access anything on the main network and use the same IP range. The diagram would be like so... GW..(192.168.25.1) .. Switch .. Local Computers (192.168.25.5-15) | |-- Soekris 4521 (eth0/eth1/wireless card) ( Wireless in between ) |-- Soekris 4511 (eth0/eth1/wireless card) | Switch .. Local COmputers (192.168.25.50-55) I have been able to get an AP working with m0n0wall and have a laptop woking just fine using the same ips I would for the remote network. I have the remote unit setup and from within the remote unit I can ping the remote side and even ping out to the Inetnet. My clients can however do anything. I have the main AP with the wireless and eth1 interface briged and setup with the ip of 192.168.25.2 and a gateway of 192.168.25.1 and filters allowing all from everywhere on all interfaces. I left eth0 alone for management if needed. I have the remote unit setup with the wireless and eth1 interface briged and setup with the ip of 192.168.25.3 and a gateway of 192.168.25.1 and filters allowing all from everywhere on all interfaces. I left eth0 alone for management if needed. What am I missing.. I assume it has to do with proxy arp bridging or static routes ... Just trying to make a transparent bridge between 2 buildings. Thanks Randy |
