The VIEW interface is limited in this way partly for licencing reasons 
-- the BNC licencing conditions means that Mark can't offer you the 
ability to browse the whole text, which you would of course get if you 
were using Xaira on your own licenced copy of the BNC. Mad, I know, but 
that's lawyers for you.
