Professor in English Language Studies School of Languages University of Brighton c £50,000 The School of Languages has recently developed its multidisciplinary academic portfolio and this has led to increased student recruitment. In this new post you will undertake personal research and be responsible for developing research within the English language subject group. You will have international standing in English language studies or applied linguistics with a strong publication record in quality journals. In addition you will have a proven track record of developing an effective research culture and in particular commitment to developing novice researchers. You will also lead curriculum development and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in a range of applied linguistic areas with particular emphasis on discourse analysis. Interest in the analysis of varieties of English is desirable, as is a proven record in the design and use of computer corpora. Job Sharers Welcome.
