At the time of the ban I think this mail list was still on Yahoo.
There is a searchable public archive here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bletchleypark/
Which had some discussion on the subject.
There was also a letter from the then trust chairman announcing this news,
it may be on the archive.
You may also find on this archive some useful discussions on more
interesting crypto topics.
These rarely happen nowadays :-(
