Re: Relocation of mailing list?: msg#00006science.chemistry.blue-obelisk
Since nobody is in charge of the Blue Obelisk, and since the community is very distributed, I think SourceForge is a better choice than to host it at a particular university or on someone's own hosting resources. What we lose in performance, we gain in long-time stability, as the site access will not be dependent on a particular person or on a particular post at a university. Also, it will be easier to maintain the resources if we have a number of people who can access them (and several of us are very familiar with SF). Speak now if you feel that this is the wrong way to go... Regarding mail archives...I'm not sure whether they can be imported into SF (we will have to issue a support request once things have been set up). However, as a result of the Gmane interface to the BO mailing list, mails have been archived at: http://www.mail-archive.com/blue-obelisk-1MXgZGmSEouYropViTRrB8edHCjMHISts0AfqQuZ5sE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/ although there is no guarantee they will be there forever.
