Fedora Core 5 Update: parted-1.7.1-17.fc5: msg#00141

Subject: Fedora Core 5 Update: parted-1.7.1-17.fc5
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2006-1147
2006-11-16
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Product : Fedora Core 5
Name : parted
Version : 1.7.1
Release : 17.fc5
Summary : The GNU disk partition manipulation program.
Description :
The GNU Parted program allows you to create, destroy, resize, move,
and copy hard disk partitions. Parted can be used for creating space
for new operating systems, reorganizing disk usage, and copying data
to new hard disks.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:

MacOS X 10.4.x ("Tiger") introduced a new label type for
bootstrap partitions on the Mac disklabel. GNU parted was
not detecting these new partitions correctly, which would
cause an exception for partitions with data segments not
ending on the partition boundary.

This problem has been patched in the latest update build of
GNU parted.
