There is also said that this problem occurs when the module "eeprom" is
loaded before a x-server starts (the thing with rhgb). The applied patch
there doesn't work for me. But an "rmmod eeprom" in rc.local does (even
without rhgb).
For a (somewhat) easier workaround, what if you remove "rhgb" from the
grub command line?
