Choosing A Webhost:
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Removal of Config Tools project from fedora.redhat.com |
I'm Greg DeKoenigsberg. I'm the community relations manager for Red Hat,
and the current chair of the Fedora Extras committee. I'm also the guy
who maintains the Fedora web site, for the most part.
Recently, I went through and cleaned up some of the Fedora "projects".
If it seemed to be an ongoing project, it was maintained. If not, it
was pulled from the nav bar on the website. The rules were pretty simple:
1. Is it being resourced like a project?
2. Is someone in Red Hat reponsible for moving the project forward?
3. Are people holding regular status meetings for the project?
4. Is the mailing list active?
The answer for the config-tools project was "no" to all of these -- and no
one from inside Red Hat has volunteered to be the sponsor for this
project's continuation. Therefore, I think it's pretty much on hiatus for
now.
In the meantime, I'd urge people who are interested in contributing code
to join the Fedora Extras project, where a whole bunch of interesting work
is going on:

Thanks for everyone's interest.
