Joel,  I'm so sorry about Zombie.  What you are feeling is guilt, 
it's one of the stages of death and you would've felt guilty about 
something even if you were there.  Not only did you make the ultimate 
loving gesture by letting him go but you were so unselfish that you 
put your own needs aside to help Zombie.  He knows how much you love 
him and he is at peace now.  You are a great fur dad.  my thoughts 
are with you and your family.
