In 2001 Wild Thing, my 19 year old, was diagnose with Pancreatic disease. He
was treated with digestive enzymes and flagyl. He was then treated
intermittently with flagyl. Well, after a recent fall from a window his
diarrhea came
back. I had put him through two rounds of ultrasounds and x-rays. Aside from
arthritis, the intestines were thick. I finally had an endoscopy. The diagnosis
came back GI Lymphoma.
If your geriatric kitty shows thickened intestines, I would definitely have
an endoscopy. Then again, I have also heard IBD is treated with Leukron too.
I was also told the only full proof diagnosis on pancreatic disease is a
biopsy. I am confused by that since I thought blood work could also show it.
I don't know if any of the above helps at all. 'Just thought my experience
with Wild Thing might shed a little light on your kitty's case.

BTW...I took Wild Thing to the vet on Sept 11. I couldn't understand why
people were acting so strange and not paying attention to their driving. It
wasn't
until I was at the vet that I knew what had happened that day.
