My Jen's WBC and RBC have been heading slowly downward for the last
month. My vet(not a specialist) wants to switch her to leukeran 4mg every
two
weeks. But I keep reading about leukeran also causing anemia and
neutropenia.
Hi Kim. My BC is on leukeran, a dose of 4 mg the first 4 days of every 21
days. His red blood count has very slowly been going down over the past
couple of months, but fortunately his white counts have been ok. But, the
way it was told to me by the vets is that it would be his white count that
would go down. Right now, the vet isn't overly concerned about his RBC, but
does monitor more closely his WBC. If you have a chance to use the
leukeran, I wouldn't hesitate. I feel anything that can halt or slow down
the lymphoma is worth a risk. Just my 2 cents. Good luck to you and Jen.
