Belinda, I included some information intended for you in my post to Simone ?
about the 10,000 strength Epogen/Procrit. Be sure to read that.
Are you already on Feline-assisted-feeding for help with the tube? You
probably are, but if you?re not, we can send you the link. I?m sure that
the feeding tube will really help in getting the required food and strength
into him to help him fight this. (I?ve never had a kitty with a feeding
tube, but after reading about so many cases of the kitty purring and being
comfortable while they get happy-tummy feel without the fight of getting it
in the mouth, I?m sure I would consider it if necessary.)
Sending hugs and prayers for you and Bailey.

time sensitive!
* Your vet probably meant if he were to have an allergic
reaction,
which kitty can have to any drug, including antibiotics. There is the
very rare scenario where the red cells would go up immediately but that
wouldn't be a horrible thing. My vet has seen that happen once, the red
cells went up to 46 with two treatments. If the cat were to create
antibdies all that means is the epogen would no longer work and as
someone said you would be back to where you are now. Bailey has had
his first week so far and he is holding at 18%.
He will have a bone marrow aspirate on Tuesday because all of the blood
work points to non-regenerative and with FeLV+'s that could mean several
things we need to check out. Lymphoma, or could be an auto immune
response or the virus is replicating in the bone marrow and preventing
it from letting the red cells mature. So Tuesday we will find out what
is going on so we can treat it accordingly and since he will be under
for that, he will get a feeding tube. He is getting extremely bad about
syringing. He is still about the same, sleeping 24/, no worse, no better.
