The fact that National and others found it necessary to add a cooler should give you an idea of the cooler's value. The over temp light is no different than any other idiot light, in that they tend to give warning too late for effective action. A transmission temperature gauge on the other hand, can give you notice that the operating temperature is rising well before any damage is done. A very worthwhile investment in my opinion...
