The 4-cylinder 'R' series Toyota engines are well known for their
strength and longevity. It's not uncommon to see engines with 250,000 or
more miles on them without a major overhaul in everyday service as
flatbed, dump body, or box trucks, as well as motorhomes. The V-6's are
strong engines as well, although they don't have quite the "heavy
service" reputation of the 4's. Either one handles motorhome service
quite well with proper maintenance...
