Gas tank

Hi all,
I just got back from another 10 day trip and had an interesting thing 
happen, I put 13.8 gallons of gas in my 12 gallon tank.  Ok I thought 
it was a 12 gallon tank but now I figure it must be a 15 gallon tank.  
My gas gauge drops to empty after I use about 5 gallons so I fill up 
on estamated milage, which at this point I'm pretty colse to 
figuring.  This time though I forgot to figure the strong head wind 
and mileage went way down to 13.6 mpg from my usual 18 to 20.  The 
good thing is I don't have to stop for gas as often.  

Tomorrow I leaving for an 11 day trip to Thunderhill, Laguna Seca and 
The Long Beach Grand Prix.  If any one is going to Long Beach come by 
Turn Rock Garden.  It is near the end of pit lane on Drivers left.
