You may have had second thoughts if you had been on the T&M on 
Heartbreak Hill on 2nd Sept this year where some obliging boaters with 
the same philosophy left the bottom gates open going down with the 
result of an empty pound below Church Locks and all the pounds between 
there and the locks at Thurlwood being low.
