passing arguments to the cursor.execute() method

Hi,

Can someone point me to where I can find information on passing
arguments to the cursor.execute() method?

I have two specific questions:

1.) What's the proper formatting code for booleans? Is it '%s'?

2.) If you're passing a single argument, do you have to enclose it in
a tuple?  i.e. should I write:

curs.execute(template, an_int)

-or-

curs.execute(template, (an_int,))

?

I tried googling for this info and digging through the psycopg2 wiki,
but I am still uncertain of (at least) those two questions.
