Hi,

I'm not sure whether this is a psycopg question or just my
ignorance in respect to databases and/or PostgreSQL: I have
a field of type VARCHAR and I'm putting a string into it,
that contains \n (newline) and other non-alphanumerical
characters. Whether or not I use psycopg.Binary() when
inserting: When selecting the data, I get back the numerical
value as string, instead of the \n character.

I can't tell what that last sentence means. Can you show us a specific example, including what you actually get and what you expected?
