Hey Jay,

Sorry, I didn't see that you had already tried Inline::Java. Did you
post a question on the mailing list or talk to Patrick about this? I,
too, had trouble using Inline::Java for my work, but after a few
emails with Patrick he fixed all the issues I was having.

You cannot use SWIG to communicate between Perl and Java - not
directly anyway. I know of no other solutions.

If Patrick cannot help you solve the Inline::Java problems, then I
don't have anything better to reccommend. Perhaps William Fulton, the
SWIG java module maintainer, could help figure out why Java and Perl
are having issues talking?
