The latest docs have the correct Python shared object naming scheme. The 
up to date docs are shipped with the distribution in the Doc/Manual 
directory. The online docs at http://www.swig.org/doc.html indicate 
which version the docs apply to. Admittedly there are a few versions of 
the documents lying around. If you let us know the source of confusion 
about documentation version we will try and rectify it.
