Subject: Re: Practice: Pay-Per-Use

An article from Fortune, "Execs tell software makers: 'Some of you are doomed'".
http://www.fortune.com/fortune/fastforward/0,15704,1058043,00.html

But in there is a little blurb about a desire for a subscription model
rather than large, expensive projects:

"Intuit's Cook summarized the trends driving customers' demands:
having a return to simplicity; getting the right product right out of
the box; and being able to buy software on demand—or in other words,
software available as a service, not a product."

(Diana Larsen pointed this article out on the Scrum lists).
