I'm coming into this discussion late, but I feel compelled to bring up a point. The Weekly Cycle is a practice, not a principle. One week is the shortest possible iteration length that works, therefore it is extreme. Practices should do more than just favor something, they should provide explicit instructions for practitioners to follow. As Kent says in the book (can't find the quote right now), let the values and principles inform your practices in your context. In some contexts, a Weekly Cycle doesn't fit.
