Iterations do a few things :- Focus you on releasing software often Remind you to keep planning Timebox a bunch of work so you can predict forward. What we have found is that *we* don't need an iteration as such. We can plan ALL the time. We can Release ALL the time. But we still need a timebox that you can say, we can get X done in X time. We got to this point though by doing iterations weekly and doing the planning game. Another Team I'm working with we are using a good ol weekly iteration.
