How is your printer connected to your CUPS server? I encountered errors
like that
when we were using the HP printer's built-in lpd server, especially when
printing
jobs that took longer to print than to transfer. The errors disappeared
since we
switched over to CUPS (starting with 1.1.2 then) and the socket backend
(or later on the
hpnpf backend).
