cupsd drivers on XP

I've been trying to install the cups windows printer drivers on XP and keep 
running into a problem.  Every time the driver starts to install the machine 
BSODs with a 'PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA' error.  Has anyone else seen this, 
or does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to resolve this problem?

I'm running XPsp1 with all recent hotfixes.  Not other printers or drivers are 
installed.  The cups drivers I'm trying to use were grabbed from here:

ftp://ftp.easysw.com/pub/cups/1.1.19/cups-samba-1.1.19.tar.gz
