new to printing in linux

I have never needed to use printing in Linux...until today. I have no 
experience! Can someone help me get started. I am trying to install the printer 
and print a test page. I have read tons of docs but they are not helping.

I installed cups that came redhat 9.0 (1.1.17). No GUI on the server!!! I am 
trying to install a minolta 2200 printer which is connected via network. The ip 
address of my linux server is 10.0.1.10. The ip of printer: 10.0.1.20 .

I am trying not to use the web interface...command line only.

Any help would be appreciated!
