Thanks Michael for the reply. You have mentioned that "you can probably do something from the application side", what do you mean by application here ? Is it the Job Monitoring application you are referring to ? or the Application from which I am trying to print ? How can I launch my application, whenever a Job is fired using my printer/queue, I thought CUPS is the only way, is there any other place like the Printer Module where I can do this ?, I am using MAC OS X. Actually my Job monitoring application does more than Job monitoring, it will look for errors in the Private SNMP MIB and pop-up appropriate help message to the user, hence I will definitely need the Printer IP address and the Job ID before I can start the Job/error monitoring application.
