Sound at kernel level is working on h2200. So it's a matter of apps or their
packaging. Console apps (such as aplay, ogg123 and madplay) and Opie
Mediaplayer work (version 1 and 2; alignment traps and problems with
ogg/vorbis in version 2, with Familiar packages I tried).
Hmm... do you have your console running as root?
As far as I remember, OPIE/GPE is run as normal user account.
Unfortunaly, I do not have an IPAQ running linux right now, but from
what I hear, it could be a problem with device-permissions?
Did you try chmod +rw /dev/mixer* /dev/dsp* and whatever devices are needed?
