It's been 6 months, but I had one for a while. As I recall it would
tftp elf files but not the kernel. The setup I used had it tftp some
sort of little "linux boot loader" which would in turn download the
kernel. The "linux boot loader" came with the board as I recall - I
believe I got it off either Cogent's web site or some place where I
found the kernel patches (if you can't find it let me know - I have
notes).
Once I had it set up it was painless and worked reliably.
This was a Cogent box, which is what I assume you're talking about.
