You need a BigEndian kernel don't you ? Then your are out of luck, as
there is no distribution for ARM in BigEndian (MSB).
I myself ended up rebuilding busybox, but that is a minimal set of
tools. It depends of your needs.

To write GCC backend.
Any pointers on
writing GCC backend would be of great help.
I'm experimenting
with register allocation and code optimizations.

Which distribution?
Hi everybody,
Could you, please, tell which embedded linux distribution are you using for the
IXP42x family? I would really appreciate if you can comment on what features
caught your attention when selecting the distro.
I'm planning to use the IXP421 processor in one of my projects and any advice
from the people who are using embedded linux already would be great.
Thank you all.

Re: Which distribution?
Hubert,
Did you every check out the uClinux distro at http://www.snapgear.org ?
I didn't think so.
Nestor. See for yourself and tryout http://ixp4xx-osdg.sourceforge.net.
The source distro contains a build wrapper around the apps and kernel.
And it is bigendian. By following the howto, you get the
ixp400 Access Library intergrated and ready to use.
