It'd be interesting to see what's the trend with this statistic.
Only some 20-30 years ago segregation was a major
clamp on the economical possibilities of the black members
of the population. While it's despicable that a balance hasn't
been achieved yet, it'd be interesting to see if this is a
converging trend, i.e. they will (statistically) eventually reach
and earn more than white people, or a diverging trend, with
whites getting richer and richer and blacks being left behind.
It's easy to favour the second, but what do the numbers say?
