POINTER
There's just no chance for any opposition at all anymore, is there?
Especially if someone chooses to ask factual and pointed questions. And
it's even more amazing how society's level of tolerance for such
behavior varies depending on whether the Administration in power is
'Democratic' or 'Republican'. Heckling was almost considered mandatory
when Clinton was in power; when Reagan was in power, you were supposed
to behave towards him almost as though you were sitting in church. As a
bitter survivor of the Great Reagan Depression, needless to say I don't
approve of the non-stop deference (almost worship!) being shown towards
him. Ah, well...there is nothing so uncommon as common sense.

Respectfully,

Tim Callison

Five killings in two days in Iraq starts a Congressional and media
frenzy.
Five killings in two days in south Los Angeles doesn't even make the
local news.

Not Too Swift (Now Interactive)

(Wiki is interactive except not all Wikis are alike. While you can't change the original article here you can now post your comments there also...) The Kerry campaign provided evidence which supported its complaint to the Federal Election Commission of illegal cooperation between the George Bush campaign and Kenneth Cordier of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the group which has been slandering John Kerry. Nevertheless, George Bush refused to disassociate himself from the Kerry smear campaign. For purposes of damage control Cordier was advised on August 21 that he could no longer be an "official" supporter for Bush-Chaney and serve on Bush's veterans steering committee, as he had done until this disclosure was made public (in the Washington Post). Cordier is a former prisoner of war in the Vietnam War who also supported Bush in 2000 and his name appeared on a Bush Web site earlier as a member of the veterans steering committee. Also on August 21st, a journalist who commanded a boat alongside John Kerry in Vietnam broke his 35-year silence (Saturday) to talk about the incident and defend Democratic presidential candidate against the lies told by Republican critics about Kerry's military service and integrity. These Bush/Karl Rove associates tried to do what they did to McCain and to McClelan to Kerry, only this time it isn't working. Mr. William Rood, who is now an editor with the Chicago Tribune said the lies told by Kerry detractors are "simly untrue." {Bush Lies and everyone associated with him lies} "There were three swift boats on the river that day in Vietnam more than 35 years ago -- three officers and 15 crew members. Only two of those officers remain to talk about what happened on February 28, 1969," he wrote in a story on the newspaper's Web site. "One is John Kerry ... who won a Silver Star for what happened on that date. I am the other." http://www.g0lem.net/PhpWiki/index.php/NotTooSwift --- / o o \ ===OO=====OO================================================= http://g0lem.net/PhpWiki/ (NewsWiki) - http://pnews.org/ (Home) http://pnews.org/vortal/ (Portal) Myth Busters/Mid-East http://g0lem.net/vortal/ (Portal) Insane Planet/Progressive http://g0lem.net/portal/ (Portal) Bad-Ass Truth/Economics http://pnews.org/portal/ (Portal) Naked Truth/Propaganda =============================================================

Bush is Bad for Veterans

"George Bush needs to learn a certain four letter word: FACT. It is a fact that he has overextended the military to its thinnest levels in years and forced thousands of soldiers to involuntarily extend their deployments. It is a fact that he threatened to veto the $87 billion supplemental and sent troops into battle without body armor. It is a fact that he has broken his promise to America?s veterans and made it harder for them to access quality health care. George Bush is too busy attacking to get his facts straight and he is out of credibility..."
