Subject: Good News/Bad News on US wars

The March 2004 War Times/Tiempo de Guerras is coming out very soon!

THE GOOD NEWS: All the polls show US enthusiasm for George W. Bush's
adventure in Iraq has never been lower.

As the latest War Times goes to press, the Administration is so desperate
for a way out (or what will look like a way out) that it has brought the UN
back into Iraq. And restive Iraqis, both the armed resistance and popular
local leaders, are giving clueless US administrators fits on the ground.
Iraqis want their country back! What a novel demand! Meanwhile military
families here continue to ask why their loved ones are getting killed and
injured.

THE BAD NEWS: it is now clear that Democratic candidate for President will
be someone who voted for the war on Iraq and for the Patriot Act.

Those of us who work for peace and justice have no choice but to step up to
the challenge. We can't count on a John Kerry to bear our message -- we'll
have to continue to push our peace demand ourselves -- and push Democrats to
follow.

War Times/Tiempo de Guerras is a FREE tool for the work of peace and
justice. Hundreds of volunteer distributors hand out the paper all across
the country. The March issue of War Times will reach subscribers early in
the month, but building this movement demands more than some of us informing
ourselves. We have to reach out in our workplaces, our schools, at meetings,
in churches -- wherever there are people made anxious by the
Administration's permanent war!

Things you can do:

ORDER FREE COPIES of the March 2004 War Times (in multiples of 25 please).

LEARN MORE ABOUT the US-backed coup now taking place in HAITI. Make your
voice heard by our representatives: our government should not be able to
overthrow popularly elected officials it doesn't like!
