Ends, Means, "Suicide Bombers"

Dear Comrade Feldmen,

The left has addressed the problem of terrorism. Radical Women, Freedom
Socialist Party and other socialist organizations have criticized the
weaknesses of terrorism in accomplishing the end result.
"Socialists oppose terrorism by individuals or isolated groups because it is
simply not the answer to the world of hurt in which people find themselves.
The alternative to terrorism is disciplined, determined, politically focused
mass action by and for the international working class . That kind of action
is what won for all types of exploited and oppressed groups the freedoms
that will be under redoubled attack by the Bush administration in the coming
months, and that is what can best defend those rights.

The Left in the U.S. must take the lead in forging such a mass movement and
explaining the need for it to embrace a radical program. That means rising
above past competitiveness and putting aside inconsequential differences to
really work together. If we can do this, something of priceless value may
rise from the ashes of the tragic events of September 11."
