Greetings to "Tony"; I'm wondering where he is in Tennessee?  I can
understand if he doesn't want to be too specific for fear of employer
retaliation, for example, but depending on where he is, I would be
interested in hearing from him.

As regular readers of this e-mail list know, I am the moderator and I am
also a student activist at the University of Pittsburgh.  A number of months
ago I was able to get in touch with some student activists from Knoxville,
Tennessee, through a contact I made on this list -- currently my student
group is heavily involved in a Living Wage Campaign on campus, and of all
the university-based Living Wage struggles I'd seen, UT-Knoxville was the
most impressive, so it was helpful for me to get in touch with those folks
and discuss strategy.

If "Tony" could offer any experience he's had with stuff like this, or with,
say, the legendary Highlander Research and Education Center, I'd appreciate
hearing about it.  The struggles in the South are legendary, and the
progressives of Tennessee have often led the way.  Of course, if his time is
limited and he just wants to read the posts instead, that would be fine,
too.

If "Tony" would prefer to contact me offlist, that would be fine as well.
Needless to say, another question I would have is whether the factory he
works in is unionized, which is kind of a relative term in a
"right-to-work-for-less" state, in any case.
