Subject: RE: [Redbadbear] Two fine books on the Iroquois [reviews by Salter and Dowd]

Nice reviews. And it is worth adding that the systemically-necessary greed
(with frequent additions of personal lusts for money) of the rich has used
similar land-grabs against many other persons indded. The struggles over the
Lower East Side of Manhattan for the last 20 years are a case in point, as is
the gentrifying of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, and much else. Redevelopment is
said to benefit the economy and thus everyone; and the lands of the black and
the Latino are stolen from them. And as the Wallaces have documented, with
much arson, deliberate neglect of fires, and later health and other problems
(for which the minorities get blamed) as major consequences.

best,
sam
