IRSP Welcomes Che's Daughter to Ireland 

The Irish Republican Socialist Party has today warmly welcomed a 
visit by Aleida Guevara, daughter of revolutionary Marxist leader Che 
Guevara, to Ireland. 

In a statement an IRSP spokesperson said: 

"It is indeed an honour to be graced with the presence of Aleida 
Guevara, daughter of the highly renowned guerilla leader and 
revolutionary Marxist leader, Che Guevara. 

"The Irish Republican Socialist Party has been inspired, just as 
others have, by her father's socialist perspective of a world ripped 
apart by the corruption and greed of a few and by the oppression of 
so many. 

"We welcome Dr. Guevara's visit to our country where she will be 
conducting a national tour of the country speaking of the events of 
the failed US backed dictatorship over forty years ago and the 
subequent embargo which has ravaged their country ever since. 

"We call on anyone interested in supporting the Cuban Solidarity 
Committees in Ireland or who is interested in the politics of Guevara 
and how the events of September 11th have altered lives in Cuba to 
come out and support the events planned as advertised in local 
papers."
