22 years ago, the Patria Grande of Bolívar was born again

On April 2nd, 1982, an Argentinean unit of naval commandos landed on 
the occupied territories of the Malvinas (also, and wrongly, known as 
"Falklands").  This action, which cost no lives on the invader's 
camp, but cost the life of Captain Giacchino on the Argentinean camp, 
called immediately to action to all of Latin America.  Hadn't it been 
for the reactionary character of the Argentinean government of those 
times, a military war against the imperialist power of the West could 
have cemented the unity of Latin America in less than a month.

As the following press release comments, thousands of Latin Americans 
flocked into the Argentinean consulates to volunteer, the tiny 
Panamanian Republic boldly spoke the truth in the Security Commitee 
of hte United Nations against the veto of US, Britain and France 
(while the USSR and China carefully looked to the sides), the High 
Command of the Venezuelan, Peruvian and Bolivian Air Forces met their 
Argentinean counterparts, and suggested to attack the British 
invader's fleet at the high seas over the Atlantic (Venezuela and 
Peru offered all of their bombers and pilots, if need be), amd the 
Bolivian Air Force Gral. Natalio Morales sent an alert of the 
fighters group at Tarija to be ready to fly to Córdoba in defense of 
the Argentinean territory. The Brazilian and Uruguayan governments 
closed their airports to every British plane whose landing it might 
be helpful to the invaders.  Only the Colombian government (under US 
pressure) and the Chilean dictator Pinochet (but the Chilean 
communities in Bariloche and San Luis, Argentina, volunteered to go 
to war) declared their neutrality.

EN LAS ISLAS MALVINAS POR LA RECONQUISTA DEL 
TERRITORIO ARGENTINO OCUPADO POR EL INVASOR BRITÁNICO. 
Recordamos ese día desde nuestra Oficina Principal, y junto con los 
compañeros de Redacción de toda América Latina, rendimos nuestro 
homenaje a los compatriotas caídos en combate, así como también a los 
combatientes de este hecho histórico, afirmando junto a todo el 
pueblo argentino y latinoamericano, la decisión de luchar por la 
Reconquista de nuestro territorio. También rendimos nuestro homenaje 
a todos los compatriotas de la Patria Grande que en aquellos días se 
unieron a la vocación de reconquista y lucha contra el invasor 
inglés, como quedó demostrado en los miles de voluntarios que 
concurrieron a los consulados argentinos en distintas ciudades de 
Latinoamérica para incorporarse a las filas de las Fuerzas Armadas de 
la Reconquista. Recordamos al doctor Carlos Osores, Embajador de la 
República de Panamá en las Naciones Unidas, que expuso ante el Comité 
de Seguridad de la ONU los derechos de la Argentina a liberar parte 
de su territorio del usurpador inglés. También a los altos mandos de 
la Fuerza Aérea de Venezuela, Perú y Bolivia, que en esos días en 
reunión con los de la Fuerza Aérea Argentina, recomendaron atacar 
juntos a la flota británica de invasión directamente en el Atlántico, 
poniendo Venezuela y Perú todos sus aviones de bombardeo y sus 
pilotos a disposición de la Argentina, en tanto el General Natalio 
Morales de la Fuerza Aérea de Bolivia dispuso la concentración de los 
grupos de caza en la Base Aérea de Tarija, para estar listos a 
incorporarse en la ciudad de Córdoba a la defensa del territorio 
argentino. Recordamos a los gobiernos de Brasil y Uruguay cerrando 
sus aeropuertos a todos los aviones británicos para escalas técnicas 
o de ayuda a los invasores. Repudiamos al gobierno de Pinochet aliado 
de los británicos, y al de Colombia que ejercía el narcotraficante 
Turbay Ayala declarado neutral ante el hecho histórico. Manifestamos 
junto con todos los compatriotas de América Latina, que el territorio 
ocupado por el invasor, volverá a ser liberado, definitivamente, en 
el ejercicio pleno de la soberanía argentina y de la Patria Grande.-
