Re: Can we please start talking about Zend Framework again?: msg#00124

Subject: Re: Can we please start talking about Zend Framework again?
We should really focus more on framework use here. This kind of stuff is creating a lot of noise and makes it hard to follow all of the emails. After the first two the point has come across. Main problem is that we have limited resources and if it comes to spending time hacking on the mailing list and/or trying to get some proposals reviewed and writing code, I prefer to concentrate on the latter. Feel free to drop us such complaints at framework-feedback@. I promise we'll read them.

P.S. - \PHP internals mailing list works the same as this one when it comes to Reply: and we haven't had issues with people in the past. Everyone seems to be OK with it (I also see an advantage that less mails will reach here and more conversations will be private :) As for HTML mail, I'm surprised people don't have decent mail readers :)

It's not just the stupid reply-to header, but also some basic

Is anyone for HTML emails or attachments? And is anyone besides
Shiflett for Reply not being to the list?

Anyone who is in support of HTML email is just being a devil's
advocate like Shiflett because there are those people who refuse to
accept that the way things are done may just not be the ideal way to
do it.

OMFG CHANGE!! NO!!

For the record, I read Shiflett's blog regularly and I know full well
that he knows what's up, but i think advocating the current reply
stance just to support 'standards' (which it is not) is just being
difficult to refuse change.

Look at it this way: if the list was changed so that reply-to went to
the list, 100% of people would be satisfied with the result because
his "reply to list" button or "rely to all" would still accomplish
the desired result.

The current state of affairs pleases probably 10% of the list.
