I was at the University of Illinois, pursuing a degree, when I stumbled across
the PLATO terminls in the Enginering Research Lab. The two main activities that
I can remember were a science/learning game that showed how moths evolved
protective coloration in London due to the industrial revolution pollution.

That was fun, but even better was a Moon War game in which two players would
try to shoot each other using ricochet shots off the 'sides' of the computer
screen. It was so addictive that I was able to get my dorm buddies to come play
instead of hitting the bars some nights.
