I am one of the guys, who wanted to see Hartmuts cairo warpper in pecl.
I think we all now about the several major drawbacks in the GD library
and this wrapper would be finally a new, far better, possibillity to
create graphics. It supports several needed features like gradients,
antialiasing etc. which cannot be found in GD.

I want to make use of this package in several projects, and to be able
to do so we need it in pecl.

I do not care really much about the name. If it would be cairo,
cairo_wrapper or cairo_api does not matter for me. On the other hand it
would be somehow stupid to use even longer function names because of a
foreced name change, and cairo is, what potential users are looking for.

Kind regards,
Kore

PS.: I hope this mail ends up in an reply, if not I am sorry - I tried,
but I subscribed after Hartmut sent his mail....
